MY STORY

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHERE I COME FROM AND MY JOURNEY.

When I was a teenager I started travelling and taking photos. I was approached one day by a lady who asked how much it would cost to purchase one of my photographs, since then my creative passion has become my career.

In 2019 my beautiful son was born and when he was only a few months old, I moved with my son, a carload of belongings and my camera. Motherhood was not what I had expected, not in one single way - I never truely knew what I was capable of and how much I could love such a tiny human until I became a mother. We all have a unique journey and no two stories are the same.

I specialise in capturing all walks of motherhood, love, childhood, family and femininity. Every photography session for me is a moment to create something unique and truely beautiful, that resonates with my client and their walk of life.

Now after so many years in the newborn & family photography industry my clients call me the baby whisperer, I am well equipped with the knowledge and know how to settle the biggest tantrum and most upset little newborn.

As a working mum this saying resonates with me. One moment they're tiny and you can hold them in your arms all day long, a few years go by and they're walking and talking, then all of the sudden you're trying to look back on it all and hold onto those precious milestones that you went through with them. Motherhood is an incredible and life long journey, but time does fly! Imagine if you had no nice photos of you with your children through their lives. Motherhood is a journey that is unique to each individual. During the time that you are creating life, your body is in it's most extraordinary element where you are powerful, strong and feminine. 9 months goes by so quickly in the grand scheme of things. From one mother to another, being able to look back on my pregnancy and see photographs of myself as a feminine and beautiful woman carrying life inside me is priceless.

Their warm little body in a deep sleep resting on yours, the smell of their skin, the sleepy milk drunk smiles, and tiny fingers wrapped around yours. Every moment in those first few days, weeks and months is unlike anything you ever knew before. How could you ever imagine you would feel such a strong unconditional love like this. Making the decision to invest in newborn/mummy and me photos is a very easy decision, it is one of the most monumental times in your life: your re-birth as a mother & welcoming of a beautiful new soul into your lives.

Q - When should I make my booking?

A - It is recommended to book 3 months in advance to avoid disappointment as spots fill up very quickly.

Q - I'm pregnant, when should I schedule my booking for?

A - We recommend scheduling your photo shoot for between 30-35 weeks pregnant. Your belly will be a nice and round shape at this time and it should not be too uncomfortable to hold poses during this time frame. We want to ensure we leave enough time leading up to your due date as this is only an estimate date of when your baby could arrive.

Q - When should I schedule my newborn appointment for?

A - An ideal time for sleepy and naked posed newborn photos is between 4-14 days old. They will be sleepy at this point of time and the shoot will go very smoothly. Past 3 weeks of age, flaky skin, baby acne and hair loss can take place for our little bub's. We do understand that sometimes things don't go to plan or we don't have the time because life gets busy. But don't worry because I am very experienced with babies, I can guarantee you will have beautiful photos of your little one. Typically I can do newborn sleepy photos up to 2 months old.

Q - My baby is past the newborn stage, can I still make a booking?

A - Absolutely! From 3 months onwards there are so many milestones that your little one will hit. for example, their first smile, giggle, crawling, sitting, first steps and first birthday. And I can beautifully capture the whole journey for you.

Q - Are prices negotiable?

A - We are competitively priced but we are NOT a no frills company. Lots of time, love and care goes into each and every photo session. If you are on a tight budget you may want to consider applying to be my MUSE.

Q - Can I reschedule my session if my kids are unwell?

A - Yes, you can reschedule. You will not lose your sitting fee and we will do our best to find you a new session spot at a later stage or as close to the original date as possible!

Q - Is the creative deposit refundable if I change my mind?

A - We take on a limited amount of sessions per month so your spot is very special! Your creative fee blocks out the date you choose as well as post-production time, this ensures that we allow enough time to give YOU the best experience possible. We do not give refunds for retainer fees however, the retainer fee is transferrable to another session date. You can also choose to transfer the fee into a voucher and gift it to a friend. If you have an unwell newborn or you are feeling a little under the weather, we can book you in for a later date. Please provide us with as much notice as possible to avoid losing your deposit or being charged any additional fees.

Q - Can I reschedule my session if my kids are unwell?

A - Yes, you can reschedule. You will not lose your creative fee if you contact us at least 24 hours prior to your session and we will do our best to find you a new session spot at a later stage or as close to the original date as possible!

WHAT TO WEAR

THE MAIN FOCUS IS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. YOUR CLOTHING SHOULD BE MINIMALIST AND NOT TOO DISTRACTING OR BOLD IN COLOUR.

COLOUR -

We recommend the follow sticking to a specific colour scheme being cream, tan, beige, white and rust. Please NO logos or patterns as these can be very distracting in an image.

MATERIAL -

Light weight clothes are recommended for warmer months, such as linen and cotton.

In colder months it is recommended that you plan outfits with layers and stick to heavier materials such as cords, knitted sweaters, etc. A warm outfit with layers. You can also bring along throw blankets that tie into your outfits to keep warm.

OUTFIT CHANGES -

For babies we will fit in as many outfit changes as we can without causing too much disruption to the baby.

For maternity we will be able to do 3-4 outfit changes in the time we have.

For family sessions only 1-2 outfits is recommended, this is because there are typically more people involved and changing outfits takes away precious time from taking the photos.

OUTDOOR SESSION & THE WEATHER

THE PEOPLE IN THE PHOTOS ARE WHAT MATTERS MOST, THE WEATHER IS ONLY ONE COMPONENT OF THE SHOOT. SEE BELOW INFORMATION REGARDING OUTDOOR PHOTO SESSIONS.

NOT A CLOUD IN SIGHT -

This is an ideal day for most.

OVERCAST -

On an overcast day we will get more soft/flattering lighting, as well as a sky that is interesting.

RAIN -

You will have the following options:

1. To shoot in the rain with umbrellas and have fun getting wet - it could make for a fun/messy setting or a elegant/moody setting.

2. To change the location to either our studio, the glass house, or a location of your choosing

WEATHER WARNINGS -

You will have the opportunity to reschedule the shoot with no change date fees if there are wether warnings, that affect either the shoot location, the area you live in or a road that you would need to travel on.
